Our physiotherapists are highly qualified health professionals who work in partnership with their patients and their doctors to help them get better and stay well.
At a typical physiotherapy session:
Every patient is different and every injury is different. So, at Move Well Physiotherapy each visit with your physiotherapist will be unique because each of you will have unique needs and health condition.
However, a 'typical' initial session may involve:
- Assessing and diagnosing the patient’s condition and needs.
- Working with the patient to set goals whether that is controlling the pain and/or injury maintaining, mobility and independence in aged care to running a marathon.
- Developing a treatment or prevention plan that will take into account lifestyle, activities and general health
- Prescribing exercise and physical aides if required.
This routine is revisited in each and very consultation, gets reassessed and reprogrammed altogether if it is necessary.
We also work closely with GPs and other health clinicians to plan and manage treatment as GPs refer more patients to physiotherapists than any other healthcare profession.
Physiotherapy extends from health promotion to injury prevention, acute care, rehabilitation, maintenance of functional mobility, chronic disease management, patient and carer education and occupational health.
